Who we are
Delfen is operated by Jacques Domenie, trading as Delfen (Life Surfing), registered in the Netherlands (KvK 27348456). Contact: domenie@delfen.com.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, organization, job title, email address, the question you describe and — optionally — how you found Delfen. We also collect aggregate usage data: pages viewed, device type, approximate country and referring channel. That happens in two separate ways, both described under Analytics: cookieless measurement, which runs for every visitor, and Google Analytics 4, which runs only if you accept the cookie banner.
How we use it
Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your request and, where relevant, schedule an exploratory conversation. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not sell or share your information with third parties.
Email delivery
Contact form submissions are delivered via Resend (Resend Inc., United States), our email delivery provider, acting as our data processor.
Analytics
We measure this site in two separate ways, on two different legal bases. Cookieless measurement: Vercel Analytics (Vercel Inc.) records aggregate page views, device type, approximate country and referring channel — including whether a visit arrived from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not identify you or follow you across other sites. Because it needs no access to your device, it runs for every visitor on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing how this site is used, and you can object at any time. Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) gives us more detail, and it does set cookies. It loads only after you accept the cookie banner — decline, and no data is sent to Google. We never use either for advertising, and never sell or share the data.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Processing of contact form data is based on your explicit action in submitting the form, in the legitimate interest of responding to your request. Analytics runs on two bases, as set out above: cookieless measurement on our legitimate interest, which you can object to at any time, and Google Analytics 4 on your consent via the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold, and to object to its processing. Email domenie@delfen.com — we respond within one business day.
Cookies
Essential session cookies may be set by your browser for navigation. Beyond those, the only cookies we use are Google Analytics cookies, placed solely if you accept the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies. The cookieless measurement described under Analytics sets no cookies at all, so your choice here does not affect it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, the date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update.
