About Delfen

A technology advisory. Built on a conviction.

Why Delfen exists.

In the Benelux midmarket — organizations of 250 to 1,500 employees — there’s a structural shortage of the caliber of technology leadership that decisions require. Large consultancies are built for other clients. Staffing agencies supply people without accountability. Technology vendors advise in the extension of their own roadmap.

The result: organizations facing the most consequential technology shift in a generation — the AI era — face it with advice that wasn’t built for them.

Delfen was founded in 2026 to close that gap.

Who built Delfen.

Jacques Domenie started his technology career as an infrastructure engineer. He worked his way through enterprise architecture to CxO-level leadership — as IT Director in DNB-regulated financial services, and as Chief Enterprise Architect beyond it. Today he brings that hands-on experience in as interim/fractional CIO, CTO, CDO, and Chief Architect — deployed as exactly the role or combination the engagement requires.

30 years. From helpdesk to boardroom. From infrastructure engineering to digital landscapes of more than €2 billion. From technical design to regulatory compliance at NIBC Bank.

That career isn’t the product Delfen sells. It’s the foundation of the Delfen methodology — the standard every engagement is held to, and the practical experience embedded in every assessment.

What kind of company Delfen is.

Delfen is an independent technology advisory. In practice, that means three things:

Independent judgment.

The advice Delfen gives you is never bought. No vendor pays to steer a recommendation. Where a commercial interest does exist, it is disclosed up front, in writing. The judgment is always the judgment.

At CxO level.

Every engagement is led by a Delfen principal — not a project manager coordinating, or a junior consultant learning. What’s promised is delivered by the person who assessed it.

With ownership of the result.

Delfen doesn’t deliver reports and leave. Delfen leads — present, accountable, embedded — and closes every engagement with a Capability Transfer. When Delfen leaves, the organization continues independently.

What “Delfen” means.

The name has three layers.

Delven — Dutch for “to dig, to delve.” Deeper than the surface. Not settling for the first answer. The decisions that actually matter lie beneath the layer that’s visible.

Delphi — the oracle that doesn’t make predictions, but asks the right questions. Technology leadership isn’t delivering answers. It’s asking the questions the organization hasn’t asked itself yet.

Delft — the founder’s origin. TU Delft as the foundation: technical, precise, pragmatic.

Delfen.ai — the knowledge platform.

Alongside the advisory, Delfen is building the knowledge platform delfen.ai — for IT professionals and technology leaders who work independently on their own knowledge and tools.

Where delfen.com works with organizations through direct partnership, delfen.ai works with individual professionals through content, frameworks, and toolkits.
